A 6.9 magnitude earthquake hits Central Visayas late noon last Monday. After two hours since the quake, there was a false alarm of a possible tsunami circulating in Metro Cebu. Above was the video recorded when the commotion happens and shows how the people react on tsunami false alarm. People Flocks to uptown area or in some nearby hotels, high buildings and in skywalk for a safe haven.
Province of Cebu Local Government Units advised and alarmed their constituents for a possible 1 meter-high waves are likely to occur in an earthquake-affected place. Residents at effected areas are advised to avoid the coastlines for next 2-4 hours.
Some residence prefer to stay outside since aftershocks could still be felt throughout the day, and some goes elevated areas and prefer to stay for a while. However, thanks God there will be no tsunami or having high-waves struck the city to create some damages.
