Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose was been silent in the first half before he got into his rhythm in the second half and scored 23 points to beat the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 103-91 in Game one of the first round NBA playoff series Saturday game.
It’s been a tough season for Chicago Bulls where they played 27 games without their superstar Derrick Rose because of injuries during the regular season and sad to say that it seems they will play again without Derrick Rose in the playoffs, jeopardizing their Championship dream.
The Bulls lead in double digits and with 1:20 left in the regulation when Derrick Rose crumbled to the ground after he drove the lane and came down clutching his left knee.
Tom Thibodeau’s was questioned by his decision putting back Rose on the game even they maintain their lead in double-digits with less than eight minutes left in the regulation and keep Rose on the floor up to the last minute even they holding the lead in double digits.
“I do not work backward like you guys. The score was going the other way. He’s got to play. Derrick has to work on finishing, on closing. Our team did not handle that part great. That’s what I was thinking.” Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said.
“Philly was making a run. In playoff basketball, you never want to give a team confidence. … When you have a team down, you have to try to keep them down. They made a little run so we needed guys that could put the ball in the basket,”said Richard Hamilton to defend his coach decision.
“He knows what he’s doing coaching his team,” Collins said. “Thibs is my buddy. I have the ultimate respect for him. From his standpoint he wanted to finish that game for what he did. It’s awful that Derrick got hurt.” Doug Collins Sixers head coach on backing Thibodeau’s decision.
If you were the one to decide will you keep on Rose? Or let him rest to protect his health. Let us know friend.
